President and CEO

Mr. Corbeil has over 20 years of extensive international business experience. Prior to joining CelluForce, he held several leadership positions with the SUEZ Group in Europe where he developed original products, launched new business units and helped to reposition ailing companies. He returned to Canada in 2013 and served as Vice-President for EnGlobe Corp, spearheading a major acquisition project.

Mr. Corbeil began his career as a research engineer in Pulp and Paper with industrial gas giant Air Liquide in Chicago. He has a bachelor's and a master's degree in chemical engineering from McGill University in Montreal, Canada as well as a MBA from DePaul University in Chicago, USA.

Dr. Berry has been leading the development of NCCTM since the early 2000s and is a world-renowned expert in the field. He has numerous scientific accomplishments and vast experience overseeing the industrial application of his many inventions. He received NanoQuébec's prestigious 2009 Nano-Industry Award for his exceptional contribution to the development of NanoCrystalline Cellulose, as well as the 2014 TAPPI NanoDivision Technical Award. In addition to holding twenty four patents, his work has been published in more than a hundred articles and in two monographs.

Dr. Berry received a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry and geology from Keele University in Staffordshire, England in 1975. In 1980, he earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Hélène Bergeron has over 25 years of experience in finance and accounting. Mrs. Bergeron has a broad experience in business process development and implementation, business case analysis and project evaluation. Before joining CelluForce, she was responsible for finance planning and business processes at Domtar. Prior to Domtar, she was responsible for finance transformation at BRP. She started her career at IBM and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Sherbrooke University.

Mr. Ricchi is a business and sales executive with 20+ years of proven track record in leading the development of specialty chemical businesses and delivering successful, customer-focused solutions. Before joining CelluForce, Mr. Ricchi held several commercial and business roles ranging from Sales Engineer at National Starch to Business Leader at Akzo Nobel. More recently, he held different executive positions at Solenis North America in charge of strategic and business development.

Mr. Ricchi received a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering as well as Master of Engineering in Pulp and Paper from McGill University. Furthermore, he holds the industrially recognized Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification and has ample experience in the deployment and management of continuous improvement and change management programs within the chemical industry.

Patrick Loulou has been Domtar's Senior Vice President, Corporate Development since March 2007. Previously, he held a number of positions in the telecommunications and management consulting sectors. He has several years of experience in corporate strategy and business development. Mr. Loulou is responsible for new business developments, corporate strategy, and mergers and acquisitions.

Iain Cooper has 23 years of experience within Schlumberger in a range of technical and managerial positions. As well as founding and managing the company’s Corporate Venturing activity, he oversees relationships with major external technology companies. Previously, he was Global Product Development Manager for Well Services, and Research Director for Drilling and Completions. Iain is the co-author of the textbook on 'Advanced Drilling & Well Technology", and holds 26 granted US patents.

Vice President and Business Unit Leader, BioMaterials,

Mr. DeAndrea has management oversight and responsibility for Domtar’s BioMaterials business which includes advanced fiber, lignin, pine chemicals, hydrocarbons, and other products derived from wood sugars. Mark has over 25 years of international management experience. His background includes bio-refining, renewable energy, and technology. Prior to joining Domtar, Mr. DeAndrea was a partner at PrairieGold (PG), a private equity firm focused on renewable energy and bio-refining technologies. Prior to PG, Mark was Senior Vice President of Strategic Development for POET, one of the world’s largest ethanol producers. Prior to POET, Mr. DeAndrea held various senior management positions with international investment banks including RBC Capital and PricewaterhouseCoopers Securities.

Nathalie Legault is the Chief Financial Officer at FPInnovations. In her role, Nathalie is responsible for all financial matters, information technology and facilities management.

Nathalie is a passionate and dynamic executive with more than 30 years of experience in start-ups, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, value creation and transformation. She has a vast experience in the healthcare sector, the telecommunication industry, as well as auditing and advisory services in Canada, the United States and internationally. Nathalie is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy from McGill University and a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University.

Chief Communications Officer & Corporate Secretary,

Terry Knee is the Chief Communications Officer, Corporate Secretary, and member of the Senior Management Team at FPInnovations. In his role, Terry is responsible for the management of the activities of the Board of Directors and its committees, the strategic direction of the organisation’s communications program and, as a member of the Senior Management Team, contributes to overall strategic planning and operations management of the institute.

Terry received his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree with a specialization in Industrial Engineering in 1990 and more recently completed a certification in corporate governance from the Governance Professionals of Canada. He has over 25 years of experience in Communications focussing primarily on the aerospace and forestry sectors.


Michael Rushton, Director

Chief Operating Officer, Suzano Canada

Mike Rushton graduated as a chemical engineer from the University of Exeter, England in the mid 70’s and became involved in the development and commercialization of process technology. He moved to Canada in 1978, where he has lived ever since, working in a variety of process industries – oil refining, pulp and paper, chemicals, metal smelting and alternative energy, moving from technical roles to commercial and executive positions. In 2006, Mike joined Lignol Innovations, a company developing biorefinery processes and lignin applications. In 2015, Fibria, a Brazilian company and global leader in sustainable forestry and eucalyptus pulp production, acquired the assets of Lignol and established Fibria Innovations in Burnaby, BC, which later became Suzano Canada when Fibria and Suzano merged in 2019. Suzano Canada’s primary function is supporting Suzano’s strategy for diversification into the bio-economy. As Chief Operating Officer, Mike is responsible for the operation of Suzano Canada which is engaged in R&D and commercialization of renewable bio-products and bio-materials.


Pierre Jetté, Director

Pierre Jetté has been Domtar’s Vice President, Taxation since August 2001. Previously, he held positions in the telecommunications industry as well as for renowned accounting firms. He has several years of experience in global corporate taxation as well as mergers and acquisitions. Pierre is responsible for global taxation and is directly involved in special projects. He is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada and has a BAA-Accounting from École des Hautes Études Commerciales.
